Silk was surprised that Kyoko would even bother protesting. She thought everyone knew her as a very stubborn woman. Though it seemed Kyoko gave in and relented to the very obvious 'your taking it' stare Silk had pointed at her. Though when the Kimono was brought over and set before her she did smile. She had a large collection of them as she did love them. For a woman who wasn't fond of being covered up, she'd wear kimonos all day if she could.
"Thank you so much Kyoko. It's very lovely."
She would neatly fold the gift and keep it safe. As little Kaori struggled with the reasoning for her being given a gift Silk smiled at her.
"Friends give gifts. Since I like you far more than most of my friends, you get an extra special gift. So even when I can't come play... you can remember I'm there. Okay?"
Silk really did adore Kaori. The child was absolutely adorable and that was probably half of the reason Silk liked her so much but the other half was because the child reminded her, with those green eyes and that white hair, of a younger self. Of who she had once been before she had to suck it up and become so seriously involved with Tenchi's company.
"I'll have to make time to come have tea and make churros for you."

Kaori looking up at her daddy, to see if it was alright, Kazuya would smile and give Kaori a nod of his head, as she would smile happily and accept the fan from Silk with both hands.
"Okay! And I like that! Daddy can make some sata andangi (Okinawan doughnuts) when you come! If that's alright with you daddy..."
Kazuya smiling slightly, he would gently pat Kaori on her head, letting her know it was perfectly fine. It really was a beautiful fan. Unlike Kyoko, Kaori had nothing she could give in return to Silk as thanks, but Kazuya figured just spending time with Kaori any chance she got was good enough for Silk.
["Ladies and gentlemen, with the winners of the various items that were up for bid announced and the items delivered to their respective winners, we now invite you to the dance floor. Please relax, dance, have some food from the buffet table, and enjoy the rest of your evening. Thank you."]

Silk really wasn't the type to give gifts expecting anything from them. Hell, most people complained about how she was so hard to get gifts for because she tended to not like taking gifts from people. It kind of made her feel in some way indebted to them and she hated that. Giving gifts with out expecting anything was probably one of Silk's more positive traits. She didn't have many so on the occasion that she got to be selfless and helpful, she took it. Seeing little Kaori's smile was certainly more than enough for her. There was still a bitter sweet burn to seeing the child but it wasn't anything Silk couldn't handle. With the announcement of the bids being completed and everyone getting what they'd won, the dance floor was opened. People gladly moved out onto the floor to dance and Tenchi finished his rounds of giving gifts to people that Silk had pointed out to him. When he returned he looked exhausted and sat down beside her. Instead of being cruel, she reached over and patted his mass of blond hair. "Good boy. See what happens when you get over zealous?" He sighed and nodded, giving the most pathetic 'I tried... so hard...' look. She'd nudge some of her Obento towards him and he looked at her. A big goofy grin spread over his face as he became happy again, instead of looking like a dejected puppy. "Silk-chan?""Go ahead... you haven't eaten much and I know you are too forgetful to get your own." "Silky-Channn~" He happily took it and began to nom and scarf at it, much like a manner-less child. Silk watched, clearly unimpressed and just shook her head. The music playing over head made the other children at the table run over tugging at Silk's dress to draw her attention. Silk looked at them as they all began speaking in Japanese, asking her to go dance with them. She smiled and nodded. Sasha looked so terribly confused as she was pulled out onto the floor by a few of the other children. Silk looked over at Kaori. "Would you want to come dance with us Kaori-chan?" Silk said as she stood up. A few of the other kids happily jumped up and down tugging on Silk's arms. She giggled and spoke to them telling them she was waiting for a friend to come with them. So they rushed out to dance with Sasha who looked completely lost. She didn't know how to dance to Japanese music. She tried to mimic the children which only served to make people giggle around them as the 18 yr old spanish girl copied the smaller children's movements.

Kaori having finished her obento by this time, and was now just happily sitting back on her daddy's lap, she would smile and nod happily at Silk, holding her arms out for the Spanish woman to pick her up and carry her. After she had been taken from Kazuya's hold, he would sit back and relax with Kyoko, while working on finishing his own meal. It was pretty slow moving trying to eat with just one arm after all. Their father and step-mother having joined their table and sat down with them by this time, all that would be heard issuing from their table was Japanese, with the occasional sentences in English.
It was easy to tell none of them were really too worried about Tenchi's eating manners, even though the boy was eating like he had been starved for days. Every so often, a client or partner of Hikari Industries, and more often than not, a good friend of Kane's, would come over to their table and strike up a conversation with him and Luyu, leaving Kazuya and Kyoko to continue their conversation, the two of them occasionally standing up and bowing, as they also knew most of their father's friends. It was tiresome, but they expected it any time they went to a gala or event involving the company.

Despite Tenchi's terrible table manners, he was actually pretty smart when he wanted to be. He could hold a very intelligent conversation with Kane and Luyu easily. Silk, having taken Kaori was now off dancing with the little boys and girls, all of them looked very happy. Sasha, still looked horribly confused and more than once tried to sneak away, only to be taken up by Tomo-chan and forced to endure dancing and talking to him. Luckily for her though, he at least knew English. Silk had picked songs for the children to listen to before bed. Songs she knew they would know and that most people would consider child acceptable. Last thing she wanted was some stupid controversy over MUSIC of all things. She'd happily hold onto Kaori and spin in circles with her.
This was what Silk imagined motherhood to be like. Perhaps she put it on a pedestal of some sort. Though for her, a woman who barely remembered her own mother... she liked to think that perhaps she could have had one of those story tale families growing up. The mother who sang bed time stories to her daughters, cooked and baked cookies, danced with them during play time, made them all their favorite things. That was what she had wanted to be for her children. She had wanted to be a good mother. She stopped doing anything bad during the times she'd gotten pregnant but that hadn't been enough. She lightly kissed Kaori's cheek and spun around in a circle again, being mindful to not spin too much as the child HAD just eaten. Jostling them too much tended to make them sick so she was careful.
Tenchi, in between his conversations with Kane, Luyu and other friends who visited the table, would stop to look at Silk and watch her. There was a lot he wished he could have done for her. The whole point of their friendship was... like it or not... she HAD needed someone to look after her. As hard as Tenchi had tried to be that person, he'd learned he struggled with it. She was headstrong and stubborn. Opinionated and aggressive. She normally wouldn't have been his type but all of that some how made her endearing to him. So now, seeing her smiling despite all the obvious pain she probably felt, or he thought she felt... it hurt. He'd probably hurt her more than protected her, now that he thought about it.
If anyone could have seen those gears turning in his head or could read his thoughts, perhaps someone would understand why he always seemed to become some goofy child around her. He did it for her. He wasn't actually as stupid as he tended to act sometimes. He'd long grown out of his teenage awkward years. Silk just had a way of bringing it out in him. He'd reach up and rub the back of his head putting on a goofy smile as she looked over at him like he had lost his mind, staring at her the way he was. He laughed loud and nervously before looking away innocently as if he didn't know what was going on. She scrunched her nose at him and kept dancing with the children.

As apparent by the expression on Kane's face, he was quite pleased that Tenchi, despite his general goofy nature, could hold an intelligent conversation with him and Luyu. Since Tenchi had taken over Sanada Corp. from his father, unlike most of the other larger corporations in Japan, Kane did not think lowly of Tenchi and his abilities to run the company, but instead believed that Tenchi would do just fine, and the boy did not disappoint. Still, his zealousness and eagerness to prove himself was a bit overbearing, even for Kane, who was quite possibly the most patient out of all the zaibatsu leaders in Japan, more so with Hikari Industries being the most powerful and influential company in all of Japan. Kaori happily giggling as she was held by Silk and spun around in circles on the dance floor, unlike most children, she was not so easily prone to sickness after eating, mostly because between her daddy playing with her every chance he got, and Kuro, Kazuya's stray pet cat, watching over and playing with her when Kazuya wasn't around, she got plenty of exercise after every meal. Smiling and giggling happily as Silk kissed her cheek and spun her around in circles again, she would latch onto Silk not out of fright, but because she was having fun and wanted to play some more, but not too much, either wise she really would end up throwing up from all the energy expended. Kane noticing Tenchi glancing over every so often in Silk's direction, though he could not read minds or see the gears turning in his head, he could at least guess that he still cared very much about Silk, and wanted to do all he could for her, but somehow ended up making himself act like an over-excited kid. "You care very much for her, don't you Sanada-san?"A voice would speak up from behind Tenchi, as Kane stood behind his chair, a glass of white wine held in one hand, his other hand held behind his back. Across the table, Luyu, Kyoko, and Kazuya could be seen chatting with one of the board members of Sanada Corp., and quite possibly the only one that did not look down on Silk, but had long since given up trying to convince the other members of the board, Taniguchi Yoshiro. Instead however, he quietly did what he could to help Silk, such as going around to many of the partners and clients of Sanada Corp. and not only chatting with them, but also suggesting they do their part with the donations, so that Silk could continue keeping Sanada Corp. out of peril. "Ms. Velasquez, you are looking lovely tonight."A slow but calm voice would speak up from somewhere to her right, as Yoshiro stood off to the side, his arms clasped behind him. Seeing Kaori, he would smile kindly and wave to her, like a kindly grandfather.

Tenchi looked over at Kane and blinked a moment before laughing nervously as he had been caught by someone other than Silk.
"Y-yeah... She always tried to look out for me when we were younger. I try to do the same for her now but..."
He looked over at her again and took on a look of exasperation.
"She can be so stubborn."
Silk, jumped hearing someone behind her. She turned to look and smiled at him as she still held Kaori in her arms. With a bit of a laugh as she tried to catch her breath she gave a very slight bow, not wanting to tip Kaori out of her arms.
"Thank you Taniguchi-san."
She would smile at Kaori and shift the little girl on her hip, repositioning her more for standing and talking, rather than dancing. No doubt her and the small child needed a tiny bit of a break.
"I hope you are enjoying the gala tonight. I was aware that some of the other board members weren't exactly fond of the... child accommodations I added to the Gala. I think they were worth it though. Don't you Kaori-chan?"
She asked before pretending to chew on the little girl's cheek like she was eating her. Complete with "Om nom nom" sounds. The other children continued to dance around behind her and Sasha finally started to look as if she were having fun as Tomo-chan helped her to dance along with the music.

"Your effort is commendable Sanada-san. Perhaps I am speaking of matters that do not concern me Sanada-san, so forgive this zaibatsu leader for speaking out of turn, but it seems to me Ms. Velasquez is only stubborn, because what you do to look out for her, are geared towards the wrong sort. Material possessions seem to appear not what she is concerned with, Sanada-san. If you wish to look out for her, simply continue to be a friend she can go to and have fun and spend time with. The rest will come naturally."
Kane smiling amicably at Tenchi, he remembered when his grandfather had dealt with Tenchi's father years ago, when he had been the CEO of Hikari Industries, and Kane the Chief Financial Officer. The man had been rigid and strict, and followed traditions and rules to a tee, and while his grandfather was much the same, unlike Tenchi's father, Kazunari was not so set in his ways that he could not be uncompromising. He had felt no need to control all aspects of his life, and did not extend it to his grandson or the company.
"There is no need to thank me Ms. Velasquez, but you are most welcome."
Bowing back to Silk, though he was just as old as Ito and the other members of the board, unlike them, Yoshiro was still fit and moved with the ease of a man ten years younger. He too did think Tenchi's father a great man, with many achievements to his name, but he also believed that constantly referring back to his legacy would not help Tenchi establish his own, but instead further put Tenchi down, making it harder and harder for him to reach and eventually surpass his father.
Kaori happily smiling at Yoshiro, she would giggle happily after Silk smiled at her then shifted her onto her hip, holding her in a position for talking and standing, instead of dancing. Yoshiro letting out a slow sigh, he was not surprised the others disapproved of the children accommodations added to the gala. They had been very vocal about their thoughts on getting rid of it altogether, Ito especially, but had been overruled. That man lived to disagree and nitpick, and was incredibly bitter towards Silk.
"...Yes, I am having a wonderful time. You did an excellent job organizing the gala, I must commend you for your efforts. No doubt Ito-san was the first one to voice his disapproval. That man lives to object against anything he thinks Sanada-san would strike down instantly, even if the ideas are ones that would benefit Sanada Corp."
Speaking much like an old, wise sage, he could continue to smile kindly at Silk and Kaori as she giggled happily while Silk pretended to chew on her cheek like she was eating her, complete with 'om nom nom' sounds. Much to Yoshiro's surprise, and no doubt Silk's, she would reach out to Yoshiro, like she wanted to be carried by him. Though he was a grandfather to many grandchildren, including one granddaughter the same age as Kaori, it wasn't the fact Kaori wanted to be carried by him that surprised him, as she saw he gave off the same kind of grandfatherly aura her own grandfather had, but the fact that she didn't know him too well, as she had only seen Yoshiro a few times before.
"If it were not for these so-called "useless" charity events, according to the others, Sanada Corp. would've gone under much quicker. Sanada-san was a great man, but his greatness alone could not keep Sanada Corp. afloat. It cannot simply be a take and no give situation..."

Tenchi's efforts to befriend Silk had always been over the top. Even when they were teens. Everyone was so enthralled by the fact he had money, that his dad owned a famous company, that Tenchi could buy anything he wanted. Silk... never was. He'd buy her limos to take her clubbing, she always trashed them. He'd take her out to fancy restaurants and she'd always look so uncomfortable. He bought her band whole new equipment once... she threw it out and was so mad at him. Nothing he ever did was ever good enough. Of course... Kane was right. Silk wasn't a very materialistic person. She'd have rather had Tenchi around when they were married, but that hadn't happened. Mr. Sanada was a very over powering man and had wanted his son to not be distracted by her. It didn't help his opinion of his son, when his son married a spanish woman. Tenchi's new fiance had spent the night feeling quite neglected. She kept texting him, as she hadn't been invited to the gala. Silk and Tenchi had both agreed not to have Nakia present as Silk would not have been able to keep her happy demeanor up. Ito challenged her enough. Tenchi's phone buzzed and he'd pick it up looking at it.
"You know Mr. Hikari. You are probably right... She's always been against me spoiling her with things."
He read over the text. Nakia was complaining about how Silk got to do everything and she had to sit at home. He frowned and tucked his phone away. Nakia and Silk had never been on good terms. The women had fought back in high school, not over Tenchi mind you, but over what ever Nakia had a problem with Silk about. Nakia had been a very jealous teenager. Seeing her boyfriend at the time, following Silk around like she was some impressive leader had worried her and when she broke up with Tenchi over it, he of course ran to his best friend. Silk had been there for him. Cheered him up. Nakia wanted Tenchi to pine for her, beg her to come back, but because of Silk he hadn't. He actually went many years with out talking to her. It wasn't until she met him at a company event that she was able to get her claws back into him. Then it was just a matter of prying him from Silk which was a lot easier with Tenchi's father helping her. Once he found out she still had interest in his son, he sent them away for company meetings all the time. Leaving the sometimes pregnant Silk alone and at a loss as to what to do. Nakia had originally hoped Silk would just kill herself and then she could take her place at Tenchi's side.
When that hadn't happened and Nakia was now being pushed aside so Tenchi could pander to the whims of his ex, Nakia had become quite the bitch. Every time he went out with Silk, she texted him every 15 minutes to make sure he wasn't cheating. She liked to remind him that he'd cheated on such a 'gorgeous woman' like Silk, he'd certainly cheat on her. Though Tenchi did love Silk, it was more as a friend and sister than anything else now. They had been separated for a while and he knew as far as they were concerned, Silk's feelings towards him had almost diminished because of everything he'd put her through. He was trying to maintain that friendship though and Kane's advice really seemed to sink in. Tenchi sighed and rubbed the back of his head.
"Geeze, why do women have to be so complicated?"
Silk blinked as little Kaori reached her arms out for Taniguchi. She smiled and knowing she could trust the older man, let Taniguchi take the small child. if only to give her own hips a break. She laughed about his comments on Ito and nodded.
"Well... Ito needs to be careful. He's getting on in years. A well placed scare could end that for him."
As usual that filter that tells normal people to not make threats was absent in Silk's mind. Threats were made all the time.
"Though I'm glad you approve Taniguchi-san. I am certain you are the only one who does."
She sighed crossing her arms and looking around at everyone. People did seem to be enjoying themselves, so that was good. In spanish culture, parties were everything. Since this was a much more classy affair and not the usual home spun party, she determined everyone's feelings about the party by their faces. At a normal spanish party, it was good if a cousin ended up so trashed they did something hilarious. It was great if the music kept people dancing all night long and if there were no left overs, the food was so good everyone now had to roll home cause they couldn't fit in their cars. She smiled at Taniguchi.
"I've promised little miss Kaori-chan that I'd make her churros when I come back to Japan. I made them for you once time, remember Taniguchi-san?"
She chuckled.
"You were so confused on how to eat it."

"Sanada-san, I can see the good intentions behind your spoiling her with material possessions, because it is obvious you want her to be happy. But it's because you care for her so much, that I noticed you go overboard. If you wish for her to be happy, try not to buy everything and the pet dog for her, but instead, be the best friend you can to her. All is not well at home I presume? Sanada-san, that is how women are. There are a select few who have no intentions of or even wish to play mind games with you, and the rest all like to play psychological minds games with you. They lure you in for a small taste, then leave you wanting more."
Placing his glass down on the table, clasping his other hand behind his back, Kane would let out a small sigh. Though the three girls Kazuya had loved before, Sephora Tsorovan, Hitokata Emi, and finally, Sacricia Emily Lourdes E. Delos Santos, did no such thing to him, which he was grateful for, Kane had seen many of his close friends gone through such complicated matters during his high school and university years. It seemed Tenchi himself was possibly going through such a thing.
"Sanada-san, unfortunately, women are not like men. They are not straightforward in their thinking, and when they want something, they will always go in a roundabout manner to obtain it. They will never say what they want directly, and become upset when you do not get what they want. It's just how they are."
Cradling Kaori in his arms, maintaining a gentle but sturdy hold on her, to ensure she could not fall or be dropped, Yoshiro would let out a low chuckle, his eyes crinkled in amusement. Though he was the pariah of the board members, in that he was not so vocal with his disagreement of their decisions and views, especially on Silk, any more, they all knew he did not agree with them almost 90% of the time. He was quite possibly the only board member that had only one wife, who had in fact, been his high school sweetheart, and was still with her to this day.
"That rival of mine is far too bitter for anything to scare him and end his life. About the only thing that would scare him is losing his money and wealth. I'm afraid you are right Ms. Velasquez. All the other board members agree with or follow Ito's lead, and are just as set in their traditional ways and rules as Sanada-san was. It's saddening really. One can only follow tradition for so long, before realizing it's time to move forward into the modern times."
Yoshiro letting out a small sigh, the gala truly was enjoyable, and many of the clients and partners of both Hikari Industries and Sanada Corp. praised the work placed into it whenever they stopped Yoshiro to chat with him. Unfortunately, Ito and the others would never see these events as anything but "useless," even to their eventual graves. All the stress of butting heads with Silk would do nothing but hasten their journey to death. Letting out a hearty laugh, he remembered when he first tried a churro. He had looked utterly perplexed on how to even eat it.
"Ah yes, I remember. Eventually I learned how to eat it, even though that old fool Ito and the others gave up instantly and left them on their plates on the table in disgust. Kaori-chan was it? Ms. Velasquez's churros are very good, but I would try only half first, alright?"
"Okay toto-san!"
Happily patting Kaori on her head, eliciting a giggle from her, off in the distance, Yoshiro could see Ito and the other board members glaring angrily at him, for even talking to Silk, but just as he had long since given up trying to convince them, so too did he long since given up caring what they thought of him. He worked and lived a long life, and Tenchi himself was greatly aware of the all the work Yoshiro had put into the company all those years.

Tenchi listened to Kane. His father never really took the time to explain girls. He was more focused on work and Tenchi not being good enough. Perhaps that was why the young man had been so eager to prove himself to everyone. He gave a few nods with Kane's words to show he was listening. Despite the constant vibrating of his phone in his pocket, which he ignored. Nakia was getting quite angry about all this. She didn't like being ignored and didn't like him spending so much time with Silk. She had half a mind to show up at the Gala event. Teach that spanish woman a thing or two. Though she knew... Tenchi was more likely to toss her aside if she did that.
"Mmmm... Well Mr.Hikari... Silk is one of those women who ALWAYS speaks her mind. I think that is why I don't fully understand her. I am used to women always wanting the things they say they don't."
Nakia was a prime example of that. 'Oh no honey, that is far too much.' She'd say before batting her eyes and looking at what ever thing it was like she wanted it. So, Tenchi would buy it. Silk never did that. Any time they had gone shopping or doing something of that nature, she'd look at things, frown and put it down. 'Don't buy that. It's crap.' Was always her comment after, to make sure Tenchi didn't buy it.
"I know women don't always say what they want to, but Silk is very expressive. Even if she isn't saying anything... her face says she'll kill you if you do it wrong."
He laughed and rubbed the back of his head.
"I get that look from her all the time."
-------------------------------------------------
Silk nodded to Taniguchi's words.
"I like tradition, I understand it. However, for the company to continue... we had to deviate from their traditions. If I could have left the company alone I would have, but..."
She looked over at Tenchi as he talked to Kane.
"Despite what a goof he is... I didn't want to watch him fall."
She still cared about him as a friend. Though he had hurt her quite a bit and it still pained her to think about it, she never wanted Tenchi to lose everything he had. She had taken what she wanted in the divorce, some company shares, Aiko... and his name to use as she pleased. Though none of those things really repaired the damage done.
"He needs someone looking out for him and... no offense to you, Taniguchi-san... he needed someone more vocal and stubborn than Ito."
She smiled warmly at Taniguchi.
"You are much too soft spoken. Ito is too overbearing."
She chuckled as he told Kaori about eating the Churro. She swept her braided locks behind her shoulder and nodded at the small child.
"Mmm, she's so small. I was going to make very small finger sized ones for her. Though I would be highly amused trying to make Kazuya, her father eat a whole one."
She laughed.

"It's because she always speaks her mind Sanada-san, that you may end up over-analyzing what she wants, and end up confused. If you want to understand her Tenchi-kun, then don't over-think what she says all the time, and just try to take her words simple and at face value. She is indeed very expressive, and it's because she can get her point across without saying anything at all, that you should stop trying to do what you think she wants, and just step back and think a bit on it. For example, the auction. I noticed she has an interest in Japanese culture, and your intentions were good, but did she honestly need all those items? More importantly, how would she bring them back home, and where would she put them all? It seemed she wanted only a few items, not twenty."
Clapping Tenchi lightly on the shoulder, like a father would to a son, he would give the younger man an amicable smile. It was clear Tenchi was taking his advice to heart, which he was more than willing to give, and very apparent that Tenchi's own father had never explained it to Tenchi before, something Kane was not surprised by. The man had been solely focused on his business, and seemed to have little to no time for anything else.
"Tenchi-kun, you care for Silk, just as she cares for you. Perhaps I am just assuming here, but being jealous just because she spends time with other males aside from you, my son included, should not be a concern for you. She is your friend first, ex-wife second, and has known you longer than anyone else. You two have a bond that cannot be broken."
Yoshiro smile kindly at Silk, he had always known Silk still cared for Tenchi, and didn't want to see him end up hitting rock bottom. The boy was very capable, and Yoshiro believed in his abilities, but with Ito constantly bringing up how great and skilled Tenchi's father was, the boy would never think himself good enough, which saddened him greatly.
"Traditional views and rules are a good foundation, but a company cannot stand solely on and rely upon them to grow in power. I too did not want to see him fall, and with your charity events and galas, I did what I could to help in their success, despite that fool Ito's dissent. None taken Ms. Velasquez, I am an old man, being a grandfather has made me more soft-spoken than before, and you seemed the only one who could match and surpass Ito's stubborn beliefs. He wants nothing more than to see you fall from grace, though he seems to forget many of the clients and partners of Sanada Corp. would stand by you."
Gently rocking Kaori back and forth in his arms, he would smile warmly seeing her curl up in his arms, one hand latched onto his blazer. She really did remind him very much of his own granddaughter, whom was no doubt already in her bed and fast asleep. She probably tried to stay up and wait for her grandpa to come home, but could only stay awake for so long.
"Be nice Ms. Velasquez. Spanish cuisine compared to Japanese cuisine is incredibly different. If you're going to have him try a churro, at least start out with half. I know I had to start out with half when I first tried it. I think the children are beginning to grow tired."
Motioning with his head ever so slightly at the dance floor, many of the children were indeed looking tired, some just sitting cross-legged on the floor, their heads falling forward, only to catch themselves and jerk back up, repeating it over and over again.
"So full of energy, but once it's all used up, they need to recharge. No doubt Kaori-chan needs to sleep too."

Tenchi looked quite startled about Kane saying he was jealous. The blond boy thought he hid it quite well. At least Silk didn't seem to notice his jealousy. If she had, he would have gotten one hell of a thumping for it. Once again his big dumb grin appeared and he rubbed the back of his neck laughing nervously.
"Ahahaha, why would I be jealous? I was married to her. She's nuts."
He laughed a bit more. Though he was saying it to diminish his jealousy, it wasn't too far from the truth. Silk was probably far too crazy for most people could handle. Tenchi couldn't imagine another human, aside from himself, being able to stand her eccentric behavior. Though Silk always had a huge group of friends back in school who seemed to tolerate her. Her aggressive behavior has its upsides and down. If given the choice, Tenchi would have preferred an argument with Silk rather than Ito. She was stubborn but there was a speckle of logic in her stubborn behavior.

Silk laughed a little and when Taniguchi mentioned the children being tired, Silk turned her attention to them. She blinked and smiled.
"Seems you are right."
She motioned to Sasha and Tomo-chan to stop dancing. Both of them began plucking up children off the dance floor and Silk moved towards Taniguchi.
"I should probably get her back to her father."
She said, gently taking hold of the tired little girl. The children were carted off to some of Silk and Tenchi's helpers, who took the children to rooms to sleep. Silk gave Taniguchi a kiss on the cheek.
"Don't stay up too late yourself. Your granddaughter will be worried about you."
She smiled at him. More acceptable adult dancing music came on as the children were placed in bed and the adults found their way to the floor.

"Tenchi-kun, crazy or not, it's because you care so much for her, that makes it hard to watch her spend time with other males. But I am not your father, and I cannot give further advice on such matters, because it is not my place to. But I can say it is natural, and no one can ever fully suppress such reactions."
The fact the goofy grin and the nervous laugh from Tenchi made Kane 99.9% sure he had hit the nail on the mark. And he could not and would not fault Tenchi for it. Everyone, boys included, had jealous reactions when it came to someone they cared very much for, most especially an ex. It was hard to get over, even harder to accept.
"Whether I am right or wrong matters not. But no matter what happens, don't try to over-think the situation Tenchi-kun. Or else Ms. Velasquez might end up putting you through a wall because you want to spend time with her, but come off as something else."
Yoshiro smiling kindly at Silk, he would gently hold Kaori out for Silk to take, the sleeping toddler shifting in her sleep, almost as if she didn't want to let go of him. Giving Kaori a gently pat on her head, he would return Silk's kiss on his cheek with a regal bow of his head.
"That would be most wise. No doubt her father will want to take her home to bed. Your concern is most appreciated Ms. Velasquez, I plan to leave quite soon. These old bones just cannot keep up with all of you young people on the dance floor."
Smiling at her, he'd then take his leave, slowly but gracefully moving back to his table, in order to sit down and rest. No doubt he'd be swarmed by Ito and the others the moment he did, something he was not surprised by at this point in time.
