"Perhaps, but one cookie is enough to keep her full for a little while. And if you gave her an entire cake, she would be bouncing off the walls right now on a sugar rush."
Kazuya's infamous slight smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth, Kaori's eyes would light up at the mention of the foods in the obento, and continuing to munch on the cookie with one hand, her other hand would reach up and tug gently at her daddy's blazer, as Kazuya would look down at his baby daughter in slight surprise.
"Daddy, can I have one?"
"Of course you can sweetheart, would you like one now?"
"Yes please! You don't like sushi Silk-san? I don't really like nigiri or sashimi, but I do like miso soup and the sushi with cooked ingredients in them. And I would like to try some chu... chu...chu roe?"
Kazuya letting Kyoko know where they were heading, his sister would nod in acknowledgment before returning to happily chatting with Mrs. Akiyama. Kaori finishing off the cookie, having made sure not to drop any crumbs on her daddy's blazer, Kazuya would head off to grab a obento for Kaori just as Tenchi came bouncing over, handing Silk a cup of punch or something, grinning like a dope at her before quickly getting the message and scurrying off. Kazuya wasn't too far from Silk, since he was striding rather casually through the grand hall, occasionally greeting some of the guests, Kaori waving happily to them.

"That's right! I keep forgetting... asian babies eat less than spanish babies..."
Silk said tapping her chin. She thought about the ones she'd been helping mom's take care of in Colombia. On rare occasions when Silk felt nice she'd babysit. If she was sober, she'd take the children out for a day of running around, throwing water balloons or jumping rope. Some she even tried to teach to fight. The thought of a little Kaori bouncing around because of a sugar rush made Silk giggle though and she was very tempted to see if this would actually happen. It was that thought that triggered her brain into lecturing her on all the ways she'd be a terrible mother. Cause like, who would give their child a whole cake just to watch them bounce around? Lucky for her, Kaz smirked and that was quite a distraction. She blinked a little and smiled. Kaori asked to have one and Silk chuckled. Silk shook her head lightly.
"Sushi is not my favorite thing, no Kaori-chan. I like lots of other things though. Mmm I do like Miso. I also like Ramen and Udon."
She giggled as the little girl tried to say Churro.
"We say it like... Churro"
Silk said as she rolled her Rs. No doubt that would get a few giggles. The other asian children found it funny the last time she'd done it. She'd smile and watch as Kazuya and Kaori go off to get her an obento. After Tenchi popped up, Silk turned her attention to the other guests and chatted and laughed with them all. All over the hall there were different items up for bid and because some of them she would very much like for her own collection, she walked around placing a few bids here and there. She always stayed with in range of Kaori and Kazuya though, just in case little Kaori missed her and wanted to play some more.

"Me too! I also like the katsudon and omurice daddy makes sometimes, his is the best!"
Well, to Kaori at least. It probably wasn't the best in Japan, but as long as his baby daughter and family liked his cooking, Kazuya was happy. Unlike the other Japanese children that giggled at Silk rolling the R's in the word Churro, Kaori did not, instead, she would pause momentarily, to let it replay in her head, before trying again.
"Chu... chu... chullo? Chu... Churro!"
Smiling happily at her third try, which was successful, she and her daddy would then head off to get an obento for her to eat, passing by some of the items that were up for bid. Though some of the items Kazuya wasn't too interested in, he was however, interested in the katana and wakizashi on display together, forged by Yamamura Tsunahiro, and would put a bid in for it. After grabbing an obento for Kaori, hearing his name being called out, he would see a group of middle-aged women and their daughters come over to and talk to him, one being the wife of a influential medical zaibatsu.
"Ah, Kurakano-san, it's always nice to see you and your daughter."
While Kazuya would chat pleasantly with Mrs. Kurakano, her daughter, and the others in the group, Kaori would politely but happily eat her food with a small pair of chopsticks, the bento box held in one of Kazuya's hands, allowing Kaori to latch onto her daddy's blazer with her free hand.

Silk clapped as the little girl said the word correctly. She smiled. Children were always amazing to her. Their ability to learn and adapt to their surroundings was astounding and now as an older woman, learning and adapting wasn't very high on her priorities list. Still, Kaori pretty much embodied everything Silk loved about children. Which stung quite harshly. More talking with old men occurred, Silk never dropped her smile. She talked with the women, young boys, occasionally tended to the orphaned children when she had the chance. She was a busy woman. The glittery dress she wore could be seen darting around the room. When she wandered back around to see Kazuya surrounded by a bunch of women she rolled her eyes a little. Perhaps a bit catty of her to be a bit jealous of other girls talking to him but what could you do? She looked at Kaori though and smiled watching the little girl eating her obento with the tiny chopsticks. Oh my god, were they trying to give Silk a stroke!? That was absolutely adorable! Though she was certain Kazuya's arm must have been getting tired and no doubt the little one didn't want to listen to all those girls shamelessly flirt with her father. At least... this is what Silk was thinking as she walked over there. It was her way of rationalizing going over if only just to steal the adorable little baby again.
"Kurakano-Chan, Aki-Chan, So nice to see you."
Silk said as she let herself slip in beside Kazuya and Kaori. She'd smile at the little Kaori.
"Ne, Kazuya-kun... would you like me to hold Kaori for you for a while?"
She asked. Okay, so this might have been a small tactic on her part to flirt with Kazuya. Kind of remind him that Kaori was fairly comfortable around her. Though the thought was only half made as she wasn't sure if the little girl was equally as comfortable with the ladies before her. She'd smile at Kaori and offer her hand out to the small girl.
"What do you say Kaori-chan? We can give your daddy's arms some rest."
It was also a little shot at the other girls who might be looking to flirt with Kazuya. Kaori was no doubt someone they would have to impress to get to her father and since Silk had already made the little 3 year old quite happy, she figured it let the other women know she'd already passed that hurdle.

Mrs. Kurakano greeting Silk warmly as the Spanish woman came up from behind Kazuya, slipping in beside him and Kaori, contrary to what Silk thought, many of the daughters of the wives of Hikari Industries clients and partners weren't flirting with Kazuya. In fact, every one of them were in fact, very good-natured little misses, the type of girls who could talk to anyone, no matter who, without discriminating at all in any way. Kaori smiling happily back at Silk while she happily ate a piece of gyoza held in her tiny chopsticks, Kazuya would continue to hold onto his baby daughter's obento as he smiled pleasantly at Silk.
"I don't mind, but that should be something Kaori decides on, not me. Sweetheart, do you want to be carried by Ms. Velasquez?"
Looking down at his baby daughter, whom had finished the piece of gyoza and was starting on another one, she would look up at her daddy, then over at Silk as she held her hand out to her, happily smiling back at her as she asked as well.
"I'm okay being carried by you daddy! But do you need to rest your arms?"
"Not really, actually. I'm quite alright, to be perfectly honest."
Well so much for that tactic. Naturally, there was no malice whatsoever behind Kaori's decision, she was only three years old after all, she wasn't trying to shoot Silk's plan down, she was just pretty comfortable nestled in her daddy's arm. Not to mention many of the middle-aged women and their daughters gathered around them, she already knew somewhat, mostly by their faces, so she felt pretty comfortable around them.
"Momoko, how goes your studies? I heard you will be graduating roughly around the same time as I will be."

If this had been an Anime, they would have separated Silk from the group while she sulked. Instead she stood there with a smile on her face and the thought of 'Why do I suddenly feel like Tenchi?' It was at this time, her Ex decided to rescue her from the embarrassment of feeling like him.
"Silk-chaaaaannn~"
'Oh thank god.' She smiled at everyone and gave little Kaori a kiss on the cheek. Then she excused herself.
"Well you both know how to find me. I need to go help Tenchi."
As soon as she left the group, her palm met with her forehead and she began her grumbling. Tenchi looped an arm around hers and pulled her over to a particularly grumpy group of old men. Though seeing Silk they all smiled. More out of fear than anything. It was the rest of their advisers for Sanada corp and she had, at one point or another threatened them all.
"Mrs. Sanada, you have done such a lovely job." "Oh can it Mr. Ito."
She said looking bored with his insincere compliment. His smile dropped and he released an annoyed sigh with her.
"Fine, if you want to dismiss pleasantries. Mrs. Sanada... I reviewed the cont-" "The contract I already signed, the one I had Tenchi Sign? You reviewed it and?" "And you cut us short on everything." "You are old Ito. You complain ABOUT everything. I'm a busy woman and since none of you had the balls to handle it like men you sent me. So I addressed everything I found important. I don't see the problem here. Do you Tenchi?"
She and Mr. Ito turned to look at her Ex. Tenchi was smiling and rocking back and forth on his heels.
"Ito-san... though she's a bit harsh with her words she does-" "Tenchi, I can't believe you are letting her make these choices for you! Your father wouldn't have."
Tenchi continued to smile even at the mention of his father. The man had never been the biggest fan of Silk. He always accused the spanish woman of one thing or another. Mostly just trying to ruin his son and his legacy. Silk's argument always was, that if she wanted to ruin his son she would have broken him into tiny pieces and if she wanted to ruin his legacy she wouldn't be helping Tenchi when it came to the company.
"Mr. Ito... my father is resting peacefully now. What he would have done or wouldn't have done isn't for us to say. Silk has been very helpful to our company and though even I sometimes disagree with her choices, She has always put our company first."
It was at this time Tenchi looked serious and his words came out not with a light and bouncy childish tone but that more befitting the final judgement of a CEO. Mr. Ito stared Tenchi down and for a moment no one said anything. The group stood in total silence. Silk stood there looking quite board and because of this the silence wouldn't last too long. She'd reach over and just smack Tenchi. It wasn't hard, just enough to make the slapping sound. The old men looked utterly horrified at her and Tenchi's serious face reverted to a smile.
"I can't stand when you get all serious boss like Tenchi. It's draining." "Haha! Sorry Silky-chan~ Won't happen again."
The older men face palmed slightly as Tenchi offered Silk some cookies and she stood there giving him an annoyed look. This was their relationship in a nutshell. People questioned Silk's motives and her intentions but Tenchi would always stand by her 100 percent. Be it because he still cared about her or because he felt guilty for how he treated her when they were married, no one actually knew for sure but it was like this long before their divorce.

Momoko chatting warmly with Kazuya, confirming she would be indeed graduating at the same time as he would, and from the same university no less, Kaori would happily giggle as Silk gave her a kiss on the cheek before excusing herself to go help Tenchi out. Kyoko joining the two of them just after Silk left, having finished talking with Mrs. Akiyama and the other elderly women, and would politely greet Mrs. Kurakano, Momoko, and the other middle-aged women with their daughters in the group.
Kazuya continuing to hold onto the obento for Kaori as she began to munch happily on the panda-shaped onigiri, holding it with both of her small hands, she didn't care much for the conversations taking place, or rather, didn't know what was going on, and would instead look over at Silk with Tenchi, talking to some stiff collared elderly men that did not look the least bit friendly to her, and would look away from them almost immediately, returning to munching contently on her onigiri.
"Kurokano-san, I look forward to seeing you again soon, hopefully at the graduation ceremony too? Momoko, I'll see you tomorrow in class."
Parting ways with the group, Kazuya and Kyoko would head over to one of the nearby tables loaded with various plates of food, ending up close by to Silk and Tenchi, and grabbing one large plate, Kyoko would begin to fill it up with both her and her little brother's favorite foods, since they would be sharing a plate of food between the two of them.

Silk and Tenchi would stand there going back and forth in conversation. Mr. Ito and a few of the other men would begin advising Tenchi about something only to have the spanish woman promptly disagree. Usually her words were.
"Oh get your head out of your butt."
Or...
"Yes, because that is the BEST idea an old grumpy bag of grump could come up with. So that means we HAVE to listen because -gasp- He's so OLD!"
The sarcasm practically oozed out of her. She looked bored beyond belief. Tenchi continued to laugh everything she said off. Occasionally she'd reach over and pull at his hair or flick his ear. She grumbled at him, looked quite annoyed with him or even stuck her tongue out at him. Eventually the topic changed to Silk's incessant need to spend company funds on her 'charities'. Which of course earned the most angriest face Silk had ever directed to anyone, pointed directly at Mr. Ito who was the one to bring it up. Seeing the look, Tenchi had a flashback to his teen years and put his hands up in the air and backed away.
"Mr.Ito... I suggest you back away slowly... and undermine your own comment before she attempts and possibly succeeds in putting us all through a wall..."
Mr. Ito, however decided a woman with that type of rage was bound to snap anyway and what better way to make her make a fool of herself than in one of her precious Gala events for some stupid charity that she was wasting HIS money on. He was a very bitter old man. He stared at her for a while, a slight smirk on his lips as he waited for her top to blow. He could see that bomb ticking closer and closer to the explosion and he was waiting for the best firework show he'd ever seen. He wanted front row seats to the destruction of her character. He would break her if it was the last thing he did. Silk's eye twitched as she stared back at the old man. The other old men all kind of stepped closer to Tenchi as the angry look she had now leveled on Ito became quite a bit more scary. Then she smiled. Which made Tenchi eep and his eyes grow wide.
"Mr. Ito, I've explained at extensive lengths the importance of our Charities." "See, you say they are OUR charities Mrs. Sanada and you use company money to throw them some very grand parties, but I never worried about them before." "And that is why Sanada Corp was on the verge of a complete shut down. Or do you not remember Mr. Ito? I believe it was the charity 'parties' I began throwing that allowed the company to write off enough funds when they turned in their taxes that they were able to survive." "Oh? I thought it was due to the creative thoughts of our Head CEO but then again, you've always undermined his greatness and put yourself at a higher level haven't you Mrs. Sanada?" "As I told Mr. Sanada, Tenchi's father... If I wanted to ruin this company... I'd just leave Tenchi to be instructed by the fools on his advisers board. Not a single one of you care about how companies are supposed to give back to the community today. You care about getting your money, keeping your wives, and yes Mr. Ito, I did use plural as we all know how many you have had, Happy by buying them their own private islands. Keeping your children out of trouble, again something you do quite a bit Mr. Ito. Bribing the law IS against the rules you know? Now... I might just be some radical thinking foreigner here but... I wouldn't leave you to watch a box of cookies much less a company."
They stared at each other for a little while. Both quite angry, but despite the rage clearly displayed in the spanish woman's eyes, she was smiling.
"Well... I've had quite enough company talk for tonight. We really should mingle. Mr. Ito I believe your new wife is very lonely. She seems to be hanging off of dear Tomo-chan. Perhaps you should check on her."
Silk turned away from him to go finish her rounds before the winners were announced.
"Mrs. Sanada..."
She turned to look at Ito as if she were surprised he was still talking to her.
"You should really work on learning your place." "It seems to me Mr. Ito... You are the one without a place."
She smiled an walked away. Tenchi and the other old men just kind of stood there looking at Ito. The problem with being a spanish woman is, if you didn't rage right when you needed to, you would end up bottling your feelings. In order to bottle them properly you needed something to distract them and the only good distraction most spanish women could find... was food. It didn't talk back, didn't complain and it certainly didn't try telling you your place. Silk would walk off to pick up her little obento and then found her way back to Kaori, Kazuya and Kyoko. She needed some time with more pleasant company. She smiled at them as she approached and where ever they had picked to sit, she sat with them.
"I hope you are all enjoying the gala."

Kyoko occasionally feeding some food to her little brother from the plate she held onto, since both of Kazuya's hands were full, both of them would smile back at Silk as she approached them, Kaori unable to smile or wave, since she was still munching away happily on her onigiri. They actually hadn't chosen a place to sit yet, since just as they had grabbed some food, they were approached by another client and partner of Hikari Industries, this time Mrs. Yoshida, a fashion designer and the president of her own brand. Having just finished talking, they would make their way to a table to sit down at, gesturing for Silk to follow with.
"Ah yes, you've done a lovely job organizing this gala Ms. Velasquez. I know my otouto-kun was very interested in the katana and wakizashi personally forged by Yamamura Tsunahiro, and placed a bid for it. As for myself, I'm rather interested in the various scrolls painted by some of Japan's finest and well-known painters, and placed bids on some of them myself."
Placing down the obento onto the table before sitting down and plopping Kaori on his lap, she would finish up her onigiri and pick up one of the hot dogs shaped into an octopus with her tiny chopsticks, leaving one of Kazuya's arms free and allowing him to grab his own food from the plate he and Kyoko shared, as opposed to his sister having to feed him.
"No doubt there were some items on bid that caught your eye Ms. Velasquez, which ones did you bid on?"

Silk listened to Kyoko and nodded.
"Some of those scrolls are lovely. I bid on a few things here and there. I think I bid on a few Kimonos, I have a large collection at home. A few fans which I thought looked adorable and a couple parasols."
She thought for a moment to make sure that was everything. Then a giggle left her lips.
"Oh yes and a trip to the hot springs. Just to see if I could get others to bid a bit more on that one."
She grinned a little and began to eat one of the little panda onigiri.
"We'll have dancing here soon when they choose to tally up all the bids. Cause what is a gala with out dancing."
She chuckled. She would look at little Kaori and giggle.
"Ne, Kaori-chan, is your obento good?"
She wanted to make sure the kids enjoyed themselves too. The table of orphan children certainly looked like they were. They were coloring, talking, making jokes at Sasha's expense. Though they also liked the food Silk had chosen for them. They were orphans so not many people considered the things they liked. Silk, miscarried 3 times had quite the soft spot for all children and wanted to make them happy and imagine her own children would have been happy. Tenchi knew that was why she did so many charities involving children. It was her way of making up for what she couldn't have and he felt sorry he hadn't been there through those crucial moments, but he was an important businessman. His father insisted he take more stock in the company at what ever detriment to the family he had at one point wanted to have with Silk. While his father and the other men didn't understand why he signed the divorce agreement with Silk, he still felt like it was something for all the pain he'd caused her.

"Ah yes, the trip to the hot springs. I heard it was to Hakone, Kanagawa, which I do recommend visiting, even if you do not win the bid. When was the last time we went there otouto-kun?"
"Mmm... About two years ago. I think they're about to tally the bids right now."
Sure enough, they had closed the auction, and would begin working on tallying the bids, after which they would announce the winners. Kaori happily munching on the hot dog, she would nod her head happily at Silk, as she would wait until she had finished chewing and swallowing, before answering.
"Yes it is! It has all my favorite foods in it, especially the panda-shaped onigiri! Is yours good Silk-san? Daddy, can I have some of your tamagoyaki (grilled egg)?"
Kazuya looking down at Kaori, before nodding his head soon after, he would pick up a piece of the cut tamago with his chopsticks and hold it out for Kaori, who would happily nibble on it, since the whole piece was too big for her to eat in one bite.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have now tallied up all the bids for the items on the auctioning block, and we will now announce the winners. The first item up for bid was a silk kimono with a one-of-a-kind pattern made by Yoshida Hitomi! And the winner is..."

Silk was probably the most perverted pervert in the world right now because at the mention of Kazuya going into the hot springs, her mind didn't really stay with conversation. Instead it wandered off into a room of naked pictures with all it's little fantasies. She was only brought back into the conversation at the mention of the winning bids being announced now. She blinked and looked around. Tenchi stood next to the stage looking proud of himself. You see, because of the fight she had with Mr. Ito. Tenchi took it upon himself to push the bidding up a bit so Silk would have more time dancing. He knew how much she loved to dance. He also decided to place a few bids on things he thought she would like. In hopes of appeasing her and making her less volatile to Mr. Ito. Silk however just face palmed as the winner for the first Silk kimono was...
"Tenchi Sanada!"
There was a thump on the table before Kyoko, Kaori and Kazuya as Silk's head smacked into the table with a groan. Tenchi on the other hand seemed quite pleased and looked very happy. A few more Kimonos were auctioned off and went to a few of the other ladies. Silk would win one of her own bid. She however, continued to keep her head on the table and glare at him. He would wave excitedly at her as if he didn't see the glare. Several more things were auctioned off. A very fine dinning set that a very famous artist had decided to make. Some of those parasols Silk had bid on. Again... one of the things Tenchi won before she did. This new win resulted in Silk sitting up and just letting her head hit the table again. Most people thought perhaps she had a problem with him winning, but no. She didn't mind him winning. Let him win everything if he wanted. Her problem lied in the fact that she KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING!
Each time something was one he would excitedly point from her to the item in hopes of making her happy. Which only seemed to annoy the spanish woman and resulted in her laying face down on a table grumbling a mix of Japanese and spanish about Tenchi having lost his mind.

After the winner for the first silk kimono was announced, both older sister and little brother would have this expression on their faces as Silk palmed her face, then repeatedly smacked her head into the table and groaned, mixed in with a couple glares sent Tenchi's way: ^___^;
At least Kazuya and Kyoko had better luck, Kazuya having won the katana and wakizashi set he had placed a bid on, and Kyoko won some of the scrolls she had placed bets on, though some of the scrolls had been won by some of the other ladies at the gala.
"The next item is a rare replicated scroll of a work painted by Ike no Taiga, 'Fishing in Springtime.' And the winner is..."
This was one of the more highly sought after and bid on items, and Kyoko was incredible hopeful she won. Not only were some of Ike no Taiga's works classified as national treasures by the Japanese government, to have it in her collection would make her very happy.
"Tenchi Sanada!"
... Ouch. Talk about heartbreaking, not only for Kyoko, but for Kazuya as well, because he knew how much Kyoko wanted to win that scroll.
"Onee-chan..."

A few more things were given out to people and Silk sat there, head on the table mentally cursing Tenchi as he had bid as high as possible on the things he thought she'd like. He over did things like this ALL the time and it made her so angry. Even his proposal to her was over the top. Though after everything had been said and done and Tenchi brought some of the things over to Silk and her table, including the scroll. Silk glared at him. As soon as it was all set in front of her she got up, took the scroll and set it in front of Kyoko. Tenchi looked so confused but... Silk had heard the tone of Kazuya's voice. Kyoko even mentioned wanting some of the scrolls. Silk had won another anyway. So that one that Tenchi brought her, the one Kyoko wanted so badly was now set before her and she smiled at Kyoko. "Kyoko, consider it a gift from Sanada corp for attending tonight." She smiled. Tenchi blinked a few times still looking horribly confused before he smiled too just to not get Silk mad at him. "Tenchi, you should give that to Sasha. You left her with the children alone after you were supposed to be her translator." Silk said as she gave him back a fan he'd won for her. "And Tomo-kun can consider this his bonus." She said as she set a very fine crafted sake set in his arms. "Go... the longer you stand here, the more I'll give to someone else." He hurried off and she sighed before sitting down and rubbing her head. She looked over at Kaori and after staring a little at what Tenchi had won her she pulled out a very beautiful fan and unfolded it before the little girl, letting her see it. Then she set it in front of her. She gave a soft smile. "There you go little one. I think you deserve something pretty too."

Kyoko's disappointment quickly turning to confusion as the replicated scroll of Ike no Taiga's work was set down in front of her by Silk, she would immediately look up at Silk and begin to protest. It was a thoughtful and very generous gesture, and Kyoko was pleasantly surprised by Silk giving it to her for, as she put it, just attending the gala, but she also felt it wasn't right for her to take it, as Silk had technically won it, by Tenchi bidding so high no one else could match or out-bid it. "Ms. Velasquez, I'm grateful for the gift, but it belongs to you rightfully. To give me such a high-priced gift from Sanada Corp. merely for attending, feels almost undeserving to me... But I know you won't take no for an answer, so as thanks for the gift, I'd like you to have this."Kyoko snapping her fingers, her personal bodyguard, Kurosawa Tōshirō, would seemingly appear out of nowhere with an item held in his hands. Stopping beside Kyoko, he would carefully hand it over to her, before bowing and taking his leave, rejoining his twin sister and Kazuya's personal bodyguard, Kurosawa Natsuki, in the shadows, remaining inconspicuous and out of sight, allowing them to watch over the the Hikari siblings unhindered. Kyoko getting up from her seat, she would then place the item Tōshirō had handed her down in front of Silk. If she unfolded it, she would see it was a beautiful kimono with an elaborate and one-of-a-kind pattern on it. "I had requested Yoshida-san to make this kimono weeks ago, in case the kimono she had donated to the auction wasn't won by you, though it seems Sanada-san won the kimono for you anyways. I humbly ask you accept this kimono, as thanks for your generous gift."And Kyoko too would not take no for an answer. After Tenchi had scurried off with the various items Silk told him to give to Sasha and his secretary, Tomo, Kaori would look in wonderment at the fan Silk opened to show her, before looking rather confused as she set the fan down in front of her. "That's... for me? But it's yours isn't it Silk-san? I can't take it..."
