History: Kane was born in an uneasy life in Japan but it was also rather contradictory in itself. His own family was rich but his parents weren't. Soon before his birth Kane's family found out that the company wouldn't be passed down from father to son-in-law, instead it would be passed to Kane. His father didn't like that and got depressed and constantly attempted suicide, every time failing, and the news hit his mother so hard that she became an alcoholic. Years passed by and Kane grew from a baby to an infant to a toddler and got the shit beat out of him by his three older step brothers because he was the special child. As year after year passed by Kane grew more and more violent and seemed to become a completely different person in a fight. At age 5 he was holding his own against his brothers, all three, at the same time. He walked his own path through life, constantly getting in trouble for fighting at school (and winning...) He grew even older and into a strong young man in middle school. At about age 11 he had joined the school football team and became a star lineman for not allowing anyone past him. Alone he would fling about half the team away but things couldn’t remain good for him all his life, so in came the hellish times. In his final year of middle school his father broke his last rope and his mom sobered up a bit, and neither liked what they saw.
Looking into the permanent record Kane had been in over 300 fights that year alone, and had won every single one, but that wasn't important. They became angry with Kane for fighting. They said Kane shamed the family name for doing so, and that he had to leave as punishment. When Kane was sent away he was sent all the way to America, and considering that he had already learned English and could speak it fluently it wouldn't be that bad. But there was one thing he didn't like... While in America he had to live with his godparents, they were always so cheery, and that bothered Kane deeply. It wasn’t long until Kane disappeared from Public High School #259 for a while so he could live with his grandfather for a few months. But he was back with a new fighting style, the Shifting Dragon. The new style had accompanied a new look and new abilities, but Kane only attended the school long enough to learn what his Qi power was, and how it came into existence, but his grandfather told him it was only a pseudo Qi and not a real Qi, that would only come when he was truly desperate. It was just before Sophomore year that Kane was able to learn this new ability and on that very day he was taken far away to the family home to begin his lessons in privacy and safety by his personal body guard, Mr. Hawthorne.
He aged slowly at home, not changing at all in looks any more. His combat training was intense at home and he broke bones all the time until he ran out of new bones to break, and for each one that was broken, Kane got it surgically coated in titanium. Power coursed through his veins by age twenty and he already had a wife (forced upon him by family) who was just starting to get pregnant with what would be a baby boy, having already had a daughter the year before. Kane had successfully taken over the company by age 22 and continued to walk down the path of life barely dodging bullets, most of the time literally. But he could only dodge them so long before one wasn’t meant for him, and that one was a sniper bullet aimed for his wife, his enemies had learned that since they coukldn't hit Kane and kill him, they would have to emotionally wound him, they had no idea what they were unleashing. The bullet had impacted with his wife’s head, splattering blood all over Kane who was standing just in front of her. The scent of her blood covered him and his eyes grew wide. He took a step back as madness rushed in to fill the void that surprise had created. Gripping the back of his head Kane would fall to his knees screaming in the inner pain and dug his nails into his head. Suddenly the world went dark around him as beasts and humans formed from no where and charged forth in rage. Later Kane learned that the blackout he experienced had lasted three weeks and was the full release of his Qi power all at once. He awoke far off in northern Russia with a letter in his pocket about starting a school, his daughter in his left arm and his son in his right, apparently they didn’t remember a thing either, except that mommy was gone forever. He followed the directions and started to create a school at that moment and went out to approach people to become teachers. It's been 10 years since it all started, and now he is the Principal, ready for it all to begin.
Public High School #650
Much like Public High School #259, Kane wasn't at Public High School #650 for very long, despite being the Principal of the school, but unlike Public High School #259, he ended up gone not because of training, but because he had died in the fight against GlaDOs. Before he had ended up being killed in the blast to destroy GlaDOs, he had managed to reunite with Luyu Kodiak, the one woman he truly loved, as well as spend some time training his daughter and son, Kyoko and Kazuya. With Kane dead, the two manifestations of the defenders of mind, Myou and Akuma, committed ritualistic suicide, blaming themselves for his death, but unlike Akuma, Myou had regenerative powers, and managed to survive. However, he too would end up perishing in the Paladin War that occurred, succeeding in killing himself where he failed the first time.
The patriarch of the Hikari family, was truly dead...
Or so it was thought.
Inter-Years
Two years after the massive bloodshed that occurred, Kazunari Hikari, Kane's grandfather, and Kyoko and Kazuya's great-grandfather, had spent the past two years replicating the serum Kyoko had the Hikari scientists create to originally bring her father back, but instead used on her little brother. A few months ago, Kazunari had gone to the grounds of the ruins of Public High School #650, rubble scattered everywhere, and by chance, Kazunari had stumbled upon the corpse of Myou Hikari, whom looked identical to Kane, his regenerative powers only enough to keep his body intact and prevent it from rotting and decomposing, but not enough to revive him from the major wounds he had sustained. Taking the body of Myou back to the lab at Hikari Industries, he then placed him in a rejuvenation chamber. He then injected Myou with the experimental serum, which brought him back, though it caused him excruciating pain as he screamed for mercy as he was brought back to life, causing his eyes to turn gray. While this occurred, a vial of Kane's stored DNA was prepared, and subsequently injected into Myou. His memories were then tinkered with, causing Myou to believe he was really Kane. Once he had recovered, their great-grandfather retired once more, as Kane took over as the Head of Hikari Industries once more.
Kazunari bringing his great-grandson back to Japan, and meeting up with Kyoko, he then brought them into the family estate. Leading the two of them into the living room, they saw a familiar figure standing at the window, the person's back facing them. At first, the two of them hung back in uncertainty, as they had been told by The Doctor he had died, but the moment the figure turned to face them, all of their doubt was removed, as the two of them ran to and embraced the man... their father, Kane Hikari. With Kane now back, he resumed training his children in the Shifting Dragon style that had started back at Public High School #650, as well as learning to control his new Qi that had manifested when he had been brought back from the dead. However, with Kane back, so to did new ideas and experiments begin to spawn, something that not even Kane foresaw. One night, Kazuya was taken from his room and brought to the Hikari Industries lab by his great-grandfather, but the experimental serum Kazunari tried on Kazuya caused the dragon spirit within his son to awaken and go berserk.
Only through the combined efforts of Kane and Kazunari was Kazuya subdued, at the cost of the lives of all 46 researchers. While his son recovered from the injuries he sustained, Kane would exercise all his resources to locate Luyu, and after much time and energy spent, had finally found and had sent his private jet to pick up and bring her to Tokyo. A couple days later, after many years, Kazuya was finally reunited with the woman he loved, though it had not been without its doubts, for she had been certain he had perished in the fight against GlaDOs, and though the real Kane had, Myou was in almost all aspects, Kane, just with a different name. After proving he really was Kane, and explaining how he had managed to survive, after spending some time catching up with Luyu, Kane returned to work, and controlling the whole of Japan in secret, having taken over as the family boss of the Hikari-gumi from his great-grandfather when he had been brought back from the dead.
Qi: Kane is able to absorb and control sunlight, allowing him to shape and manipulate the rays of the sun, as well as bypass any physical defense and inflict internal damage.
